Day 3

I'm not totally prepared to call this a die-off or toxicity reaction as it could just be a cold bug or something else rather benign but either which way I can assure you I feel pretty terrible.

Aches, headaches (I never get headaches) and a general feeling of ick. Nothing tragic but certainly unusual. No respiratory symptoms which is why I'm wondering if it's related to the diet.

In other news it snowed here today which somewhat flummoxed my start date for C25K. I wasn't really feeling up to it what with these new (and hopefully transient) symptoms. I went for a walk and left it at that. Diet and sleep take priority above all else for the moment.

I got about 7 hours of sleep last night. Woke up, took my VSL#3 and vitamin D and had a green tea. I probbaly only drank a litre of water which is not enough, in my humble opinion, but some days I'm just not thirsty.

I didn't eat until I got home from work so I consumed all of my food for the day in something like a six hour window from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm. This consisted of a can of tuna with olive oil and lemon, celery and carrot sticks, a cup of pork bone broth and a large bowl of mashed cauliflower sautéed with a tablespoon of coconut oil, apple cider vinegar, salt, pepper and lime juice and then drizzled with olive oil. And the ubiquitous probiotic and vitamin D, of course. Drinking some roobios tea as I write this.

If I had to guess that's well under 2,000 calories and I was pretty well forcing myself to eat the cauliflower. I've noticed a lack of hunger since starting the Paleo thing last month but it's gotten more extreme this last week or so. Probably partly due to dropping down to a lower dose of steriods (I eat like a wolverine high on B.C. Hydro when on lots of Pred) but I suspect also from the fasting.

In my previous life I was not someone who missed a meal and if I did I was not a happy camper. In addition to that I usually had a coffee with cream and sugar in-hand from morning until quite literally bedtime. So this whole 'meh' feeling towards meals is new to me. Not that I don't get cravings. I do. But the specific feeling of want for one item is very different from just wanting to eat something, anything.

Medications for the day were the 10mg of Pred and 4.5 mg of LDN. I'll probably just leave this and the supplemments out from now on and only mention them if something changes for any reason.

Tomorrow I am planning to make my world famous (patent-pending, copyright, trademark) DeerBisonPig meatballs. Al Gore made a documentary about them. Fact.

Until then I leave you with this photo of the very grassfed mule deer that made a generous contribution to tomorrows dinner (don't worry, not those specific ones, for the squeamish folk out there). I took that photo with my iPad despite having a few grand worth of camera gear right next to me. Lets say I was trying to be ironic? Not lazy. Ironic.

And on Repeat today:
